FRANCO VENANTI - exhibition at Corciano

Well-known artist Franco Venanti opened his exhibition at the magnificent Chiesa di San Francesco in Corciano, Perugia, yesterday, August 4, 2012 during the event Corciano Festival.
Here is a link regarding the details of the exhibition and several photographs taken during the opening.

Corciano is a town not far from Perugia. It's a hill town, a beautiful little place with lovely stone buildings, churches and much Umbrian atmosphere. Here is the entrance to The San Francesco Church, right at the base of the center of town.

Here is a band which accompanies openings of events. In the crowd are many artist friends, people in the field of publishing and people of the city hall of the town.

In the center of this photo, painter Franco Venanti.
Magnificent works admired by the public on opening day.

One of Venanti's works.

Often seen in his hat, here is Venanti photographed from behind.
Here I am with Italian/Australian painter, Antonio Muratore (who presently has a show at Ex Chiesa di Santa Maria della Misericordia, Perugia), Franco Venanti, and Marina Matteucci of the Provincia of Perugia.

Happy to be photographed with Franco Venanti, here I am together with the artist inside the exhibition yesterday.

Scuderia dell'Unicorno - ospiti e cavalli

The first day at the Stables (Unicorn Stables) Doctor Raffa spoke about the cure of horses with homeopathic medicine. Claudio Villa spoke of comunication and the way one should behave with horses. It was all very informative and interesting.

If you scratch a horse, he can even do this!

Ho imparato molto guardando e ascoltando parole sagge.
I learned a lot by watching and listening to wise words. I spent two days that were useful, and also spent them in a very original and relaxing way, in the middle of nature.

I cavalli....fanno di tutto!
Horses....can do everything!

Beautiful scenes of affection between man and his horse.
Anche i cavalli mangiano....!!!
Horses eat too!!!

Scuderia dell'Unicorno - Installazione

Installation in the country.
Under the sun.
In the middle of nature: horses, plants, trees, dogs, the wind, the sun.
I was given the occasion to have a show at a stables.
Hmmmmm......now what was I going to do.
I had several possibilities.
A wooden fence. Put on that, it would be almost like a gallery. A wall, pictures hung. Sort of boring since I had  so much space to take up. And it didn't seem like an exciting solution.
Or on the trucks the company uses to transport their horses. That was idea n.2.
Or on these metal posts...one after another, but they were a bit spread out....
Then.....the best idea came to me. Why not on hay?!
The owner of the stables Catia Brozzi said, "We can move them out into the field". Great!
So this is the first part....the moving of these huge round rolls of hay.
Of course I took pictures of the event. I don't know if it will ever come around again....
And it was fun, directing where to put them -- 6 rolls of hay.
And this was part number one PART NUMBER ONE...INSTALLATION HAY PUT INTO PLACE
Photo number one. Starting the job.
Nice compact hay.
Lots of space to chose from.
Directing the placement of the second "floor" to get them perfectly setting on top.
Just about done with the pieces I needed to set up my show "Picture Show" .

Press Release - Places and Faces. From California...to Umbria

PLACES and FACES. From California...to Umbria

Who are these fellows?
Looking at us from far away....from HOLLYWOOD, year 2007,
place The Derby, a swing club. While there I snapped a photograph
of these amazing swing dancers. And now, at the upcoming show
at the Corciano Festival, 2009.
I will be presenting the full photo of these young men
along with other photographs from
California, China, Spain, England and Italy.

By the way, the names of these young men are Brian Lee, Minn Vo, Michael Mizgalski.

WHO AM I??

WHO AM I??
The best way to know who I am is to see what I create. Take a look at this blog or my other one regarding my art.

Double images....
LOVE the double or triple image maker on my Nikon D80. Just set it, and then take two or three pics.

What's the weather like now in Perugia?

Cold one day, sunny the next. Cold in the house. But we still need our coats or lightweight ones or padded jackets outside. Chilly, and not sunny. I like it like this, no problem for me.
